
The Head of SCM will oversee end-to-end procurement operations to ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services, as well as supervise materials management to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure the timely availability of materials.
Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting regular reviews and assessments of procurement and materials management processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Exploring and evaluating potential ERP solutions and providing management with informed recommendations on the most suitable option.
• Overseeing the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
• Leading the negotiation, drafting, and administration of contracts with suppliers and service providers.
• Ensuring contract compliance and managing renewals, amendments, and contract-related disputes.
• Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance through regular reviews and resolving any issues or deviations from agreed terms.
• Supervising warehouse operations to ensure storage practices comply with safety regulations and minimize material damage.
• Monitoring and analyzing inventory turnover rates to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs.
• Coordinating material returns and ensuring defective or damaged goods are processed promptly and cost-effectively.
• Managing the importation process, including preparing and reviewing documentation, customs declarations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to facilitate smooth and cost-effective import operations.
• Working closely with internal departments such as maintenance, production, finance, and sales to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
• Supporting departments in implementing processes and procedures to ensure efficient execution and integration.
• Supervising and mentoring team members involved in procurement and materials management, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Promoting innovative thinking and problem-solving within the team to support continuous improvement.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of contracts, purchase orders, inventory levels, and customs documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Generating and presenting weekly reports on procurement activities, including status updates, performance indicators, and any issues encountered.

• Holder of a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, or a related field.
• Proven experience in supply chain or logistics management is highly desirable.
• A professional certification in supply chain management (such as APICS, CIPS, or CSCMP) is a strong asset.
• Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, materials management, and customs clearance procedures.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement/contract management, or materials management, ideally in the oil or mining sectors.
• Sound understanding of importation and customs processes, with in-depth knowledge of international trade regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in team management, including coaching, mentoring, and recruitment.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to maintain proper documentation.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Excellent writing skills and a constant focus on quality deliverables.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage organizational change effectively.
