The candidate will teach primary school students and educate them in a way each Class 7 student becomes a successful candidate for the sponsorship programme. The ideal candidate will be committed and passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust.
Under the same programme, the candidate will also be required to assist in the three mainland schools with which the Company / Foundation is working. During school breaks, you will be responsible for arranging training session to all teachers.
Main responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing and delivering (French) lessons to all students in the class;
- Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities, and achievement of the individual students and groups of students;
- Occasional training to other educators;
- Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment and behaviour of one’s students;
- Promoting the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students or class entrusted to him/her and providing feedback;
- Providing guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their further education and future careers;
- Providing individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning;
- Communicating, consulting and co-operating with other teachers and parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of students and in the preparation of teaching materials, methods of teaching and assessment arrangements;
- Maintaining good order and discipline amongst students under one’s care;
- Registering and monitoring the attendance of students under one’s care;
- Nurture a culture where teachers view themselves essentially as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners;
- Baccalaureat – minimum
- Competency in French and Malagasy (both official and northern dialect);
- Ability to teach and educate children on self-esteem and sexual education;
- Good listening skills;
- Ability to manage problems adequately;
- Ability to help children develop good habits;
- Ability to approach and build relationships with parents and communities;
- Positive attitude
This will be a full-time position based on the island of Nosy Ankao – regular trips to mainland villages will be required. Compensation will be based on candidate’s previous experience.
