• Mission during the engineering of the Project
Assigned to a project, from the engineering phase till the construction and commissioning ones, he/she is in charge of producing documents and deliverables assigned to him/her by the Project Leader /Specialist/Group Leader guaranteeing the quality, the assigned budget and time. The Engineer reports to the Project Manager for the peculiarities of the project and to the Head of Department for man-hours and quality of the deliverables. According to the expertise and experience he/she is appointed to tasks with different technical complexity and requiring different levels of skill; he/she may coordinate other engineers and/or draftsmen.
• Mission during the construction of the Project
During the construction at site, he collaborates with the Project Manager and Construction Manager in directing Subcontractor activities in the field within the area assigned to him within his own Discipline.
He is the first interface between the Subcontractor and the Site Organization with regard to Project standards
and specifications and the first controller of the Subcontractor’s activities and of the Quality of the latter’s
works.
• Key Activities & Responsibilities
The duties of the on-site Electrical Engineer are:
•To guarantee the quality of the generated deliverables and their compliance with the contractual and
company standards, procedures and work instructions;
•To develop - or to check and approve the deliverables of external engineering if any - the specifications and data sheet of electrical switchgears (TGBT), diesel generators and fuel tanks, electrical switchboards in the buildings with sockets and lighting installation, external electrical distribution, external lighting, control boards of plant equipment, fire detection system, CCTV and communication networks in the buildings and their external distribution, plant equipment and materials, including the technical characteristic of their subsystems and components and to perform sizing and verification calculations;
•To check and approve vendors' documents.
•To secure assistance, if any, during testing and start-up.
•To have the knowledge and use of Computer Added Design tools
• To co-ordinate any subcontractor activities falling within his own area, including both intermediate and final
inspections and tests;
• To valuate test results, the validity of certificates and related reports, informing the Supervisor of any
defect;
• To check that Construction works are in accordance with Project specifications and related standards, and
comply to the Quality Control Plan for his own area;
•To note the work quantities performed by subcontractors and on this basis prepare the construction monthly
progress report for his own area;
• To check the detailed activity plan for his own area and compare it with work progress.
Experience
• At least 5 years in construction projects, particularly related to buildings and camp facilities
• Good English proficiency, spoken and written (Cambridge B1)
Software
• Office suite (word, excel, power point) professional use
• AUTOCAD, professional use
• ETAP, CANECO bt or other demonstrated electrical calculation tools
