I – Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of SPICES Programme the Agroforestry Alliance Coordinator will assure the coordination and activities of the Agroforestry Alliance in line with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) program quality principles and standards, donor guidelines, and industry best practices to Country Program (CP) teams to advance the delivery of high-quality programming to the poor and vulnerable. They will be the key to success of positive movement of this Alliance, ensuring accomplishment of goals and leading to greater influence and opportunities for the involved organizations on a national scale. They will play a role in ensuring the influence of the Market-led Agroforestry based Landscape and Livelihoods Approach nationally. Their advice, knowledge, and support will contribute to creating effective, adaptive and innovative CRS’ landscape restoration scaling programming across the globe.

II - Roles and Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support the activities of the Agroforestry Alliance, including coordinating meetings, field visit exchanges, communication and marketing, event planning, relationship building, supporting the running of the first cohort of the Master Trainer in Agroforestry Program, and other activity support with members.
• Support capacity strengthening initiatives in Agroforestry and Landscape Restoration, as well as coalition building programming for staff and partner through helping develop learning and training strategies and agendas/curriculums, conducting trainings and workshops, and coaching.
• Support the development and contribute to the implementation of agency-wide strategies, standards, tools and best practices in Agroforestry and Landscape Restoration Scaling that effectively engage partners, donors, and governments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with other organizations working in agroforestry, to collaborate, coordinate and seek partnership opportunities. Contribute to maintaining relationships with donors, peer organizations, research and other institutions, participate in forums in the area of agroforestry to collect and share best practices and promote CRS’ work.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders in government ministries related to SPICES Program work. Be aware of all existing and new government programs and national trends around landscape restoration, forestry, agroforestry, agriculture, value chains and conservation, to look for opportunities for coordination and strategic decision-making.
• Collect and disseminate Agroforestry Alliance related information and resources to CRS staff and partners and assist with organization, design and coordination of training workshops to support capacity building efforts. Identify new approaches and methods for learning.
• Assist the team to develop and roll out a landscape approach strategy and how to best collaborate with and leverage coordination with other local and national stakeholders.
• Contribute to, and in some cases lead, the development of proposals, including to support Agroforestry Alliance activities and positions. Support the process of preparation, design, submission and approval of project concepts and full-fledged proposals. Share updates with the team on trends and opportunities for funding, collaboration and more.
• Prepare presentations and coordinate project communication needs through writing and editing communication resources, such as case studies, brochures, briefs, peer-reviewed articles or reports, for both internal and external audiences.
• Share within CRS and externally about the work of the Agroforestry Alliance in Madagascar, including regular participation in CRS’ Global SCP3 Landscape Restoration Platform.

Qualifications et expériences requises (minimum):
• A diploma BAC + 5 in agroforestry, agronomic sciences (Agriculture & Forestry)
• Experience in coordinating a consortium of member organizations of multiple sectors, including experience in all types of coordination activities including communications, marketing, meeting facilitation and reporting.
• At least 4 years’ experience in sustainable development projects, especially in the area of sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, value chain, and landscape restoration.
• Knowledge of technical principles and concepts in agroforestry, including for ecosystem services, soil and water conservation. General knowledge of other related disciplines to ensure proper cross-sectoral approach.
• Experience in project design and proposal development and fundraising. Experience in writing content for proposals.
• Knowledge of capacity strengthening best practices.
• Experience with program monitoring and evaluation and analysis.
• Experience and skills in networking and relations with donors, peer organizations, and faith-based and civil society partners. Experience and connections with government ministries acting in these areas. Understanding of partnership principles.
• Familiarity with national platforms, approaches, and policies in the fields of agriculture, forestry, landscape restoration, climate adaptation and more.
• Experience with perspectives on scaling and increasing impact of agricultural interventions across a landscape.
• Mastery of computer tools (Word, Excel et PowerPoint au minimum).

Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• A good understanding of agroforestry production including spices and other products (Vanilla, Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, fruits, native trees, etc.)
• Experience working or collaborating with government ministries and/or research institutions.

• Strong relationship management skills with ability to influence and get buy-in from people not under direct supervision and to work with individuals in diverse geographical and cultural settings
• Good strategic, analytical, problem-solving and systems thinking skills with capacity to see the big picture and ability to make sound judgment.

• Presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching skills
