International Translation Experience – USA Christian Band Visit to Madagascar
I served as a translator during my first international experience, supporting a Christian band from the United States during their visit to Madagascar. My role involved translating between English and Malagasy/French to facilitate clear communication during rehearsals, meetings, church services, and community events.
Although I had previous translation experience, this assignment was particularly special because it required not only linguistic accuracy but also strong cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. I acted as a bridge between cultures, ensuring that messages, values, and spiritual meaning were clearly and respectfully conveyed to local audiences.
This experience strengthened my confidence in real-time translation, enhanced my ability to work under pressure, and confirmed my passion for international communication, cross-cultural collaboration, and language services. It marked an important milestone in my professional and personal development.
