PROJECT ASSISTANT
2017- April 2024: Project Assistant of “Legal and Social Assistance project for refugees in Madagascar” with UNHCR:
• Receiving new applicant
Conducting a preliminary interview;
Assist applicants to complete the Application Form in English or in French as needed;
Enrolling on line and doing biometric enrollement of new applicant;
Making update the data base and sharing to UNHCR Pretoria as soon as possible
• Protection activities
Delivering the UNHCR attestations according to the status (asylum seeker or refugee);
Doing assessment of refugees and asylum seekers on their specific needs, their protection needs or their vulnerability through conducting home visit, conducting an individual meeting or a focus group discussion;
Assisting refugees and asylum seekers in approaching public or private hospital in case of health issue;
Approaching the related department on public security for any protection needs: domestic violence, any type of GBV, any loss of documentation or any complain.
Making follow up on the situation and share to Senior Regional Protection Officer in Pretoria;
Referring cases with urgent specific needs to UNHCR Senior Regional Protection Officer in Pretoria;
• Administrative task:
Drafting the annual work plan;
Contributing to the realization of the periodic project performance reporting as agreed on the Partnership Agreement.
Support the Financial assistant to establish the Financial report
Ensuring the implementation, the well-functioning and management of the project
Organizing virtual and in presence meeting with partner and third parties.
Organizing and facilitating meetings with beneficiaries
Ensure the communication with UNHCR, third parties and beneficiaries.
2022-2023: Focal person in charge of the Project ”JULIA TAFT FUND”:
Drawing up the project concept note: activity for supporting the income generating activity for female refugees
Organizing an information meeting with beneficiaries;
Organizing a financial training for beneficiaries;
Help beneficiaries to build up their business plan;
Drafting the periodic Financial and project performance report

Maintaining the Reception Area: Keeping the reception area tidy.
Managing Deliveries and Mail: receive and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries.
Providing Information: answer general inquiries about the organization.
Assisting with Administrative Tasks: like data entry, filing, and photocopying

Temporary Language and Cross Cultural Facilitator
: Peace Corps Temporary Language and Cross –cultural Facilitator (LCF):
Language Instruction:
Conduct language training classes following a prescribed curriculum.
Utilize various language training techniques, methodologies, resources, and activities.
Assess trainees’ language proficiency and provide targeted support.
Cross-Cultural Training:
Implement valuable cross-cultural learning activities at the training site.
Regularly incorporate culture-specific and cross-cultural discussions into language classes.
Host Family Integration:
Assist in the selection and matching process of trainees with host families.
Help host families understand American culture and vice versa through cultural codes, non-verbal language, and behavior.
Facilitate interactions between trainees and host families.
Technical Vocabulary Integration:
Support community-based projects related to trainees’ sectors.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Coordinate closely with program managers and specialists to apply linguistic skills within the community.
